Peacocks and Tropical Print Pillows

Volume 14 Issue 6, June 2017

What's New in June?

It’s summer. With that comes a lot of new flowers and other colorful additions to our front yard. We just dropped in several black eyed susan plants to brighten up a newly cleared corner of the front yard. We get assaulted regularly by pepper trees that are noxious weeds the size of redwoods, and once that weed was chopped down, there was a sunny space for some more flowers.

I put in two flower boxes in the center of the yard with annuals that added more color to the birdfeeder and bath area, and now, our resident bunny comes and sits in the front yard.

All of these pretty colors have made me miss bead making. It’s been a few months since I have sat down and made beads, so I am planning on just going crazy one of these days and making a lot of new beads. I have had a lot of other projects that have kept me from creating, and now they are done, so I have some more time. Look for more beads.

While you look, check out the colorful creations that wandered through my yard one morning. There were four of them; one was pearly white.

Hot Rod Mugs: Father’s Day is here, and if you have a gearhead guy, I got a mug for him. I currently have over two dozen hot rod mugs that feature everything from 1932 Fords to the GTO of the 60s with a lot of different cars ready to go soon.

Pillows: One of my suppliers just offered up a new array of STUFFED pillows for me to create from, and now, I am offering a ton of beach themed home décor in my shop. They also offer matching shower curtains and towels, so those are in limited supply at the moment as I create more patterns.

Beads: I am working on some new beads, so watch for them this month.

You will find all of my beads, canes and finished jewelry on my website. www.bluemorningexpressions.com

Until next month,

Julie & Blu

Things to Look Forward To:

New Products:

Hotrod magnets: I am finishing up the hotrod magnets, and I have a couple dozen done, but not featured in the shop.

Shower curtains: My supplier is introducing a new product line that I am working on creating designs for.

Print Pieces: I am working on canvases and posters. I have been working on putting together the Scenes from a Car Show series into print.

She Was Born in September

Another Month of Change

This ninth month of the year ushers in the autumn in the north and the spring in the south. The autumnal equinox and the vernal equinox open the doors for the new seasons. September means seven, and originally, this was the seventh month in the Roman calendar. While the calendar changed, September's name did not. Schools resume; leaves begin to fall; a crispness creeps into the air; and we see colors start to change in the leaves. Minor festivities happen in September, including Talk Like a Pirate Day on the nineteen. Ar, could they come up with no other holiday?

The Personality:

Careful, cautious and organized is she. She is quiet, but she can certainly speak well when she feels like it. She is calm, cool and very sympathetic. She is sensitive and detailed. She is perfect for the medical field. She is an intellectual with a critical eye for the most minute things. She is trustworthy and loyal. She works way too hard and long. She is a writer and a speaker. She loves the law. She is motivated. She is a master of research.

She is great with the sciences, mathematics, legal and medical professions. Her love of learning means that she is always striving to reach for more information. She has a great need for knowledge.

The sign:

Virgo and Libra: The virgin and the scales.

The Stone:

sept-sappThe sapphire shines brightly for the Mercury child. Insight and interpretation come easily to those born in September, and the sapphire reflects those gifts. It is said to help heal fevers and inflammations.

The Flower:

sept-asterThe aster blooms for the September babe. These flowers are the symbol of love, wisdom, faith and light. There are over 600 types of asters, and they come in a rainbow of colors. Their name means Star, and rumor has it that if you want to ward off dragons, plant asters in your garden.

The Color:

The joy of orange and the strength of red combine to make up the color of the September baby.
