Although it is still winter, with over two feet of snow on the ground, the air is a hint warmer and there are buds on the trees that are starting to break open. The winter mountains are alive in blues, lavenders and oranges. The mountain meadows are still under snow, but the first of the irises are struggling to find their way to the top. All that melting snow provides much needed nourishment to a budding meadow.
