January 2010 BluPrint Newsletter for Blue Morning Expressions

Volume 7 Issue 1 January 2010

What's New in January?

Let me start but wishing everyone success and prosperity in the new year. As we look forward, may we all be blessed with insight into what roads we should take to achieve our goals and our desires. May everyone be blessed with friends, family and be surrounded by kind people.

My year ahead looks wonderful as I plan for new adventures and the stretching of learning new techniques, designs and experiments. New pieces will be coming out in magazines and I must complete the book this year.
This set of beads became this completed set of jewelry which is in the process of being photo’d for a gallery piece in a magazine before finding it’s way to the showcase of my website for sale.

I still have one more set of tab beads in this design.

Titled piece HIGH DESERT

This watch/lanyard is in the February edition of Polymer Café.

As I clean out old inventory and start to create a lot of newer beads and raw clay canes, I will be putting things up for sale as often as possible. It is entirely possible that I will be offering them up at auction in ebay.

Watch for new beads featuring my decals and also watch for blank clay beads designed for your own decal creativity.

Thank you so much for all the input and emails. I enjoy all
the encouragement that you send my way.

Until next month,
Julie

December BluPrint - Official Newsletter of Blue Morning Expressions

What's New in December?

It is hard to believe that the end of the year is right upon us now and that Christmas is less than a month away. I have done none of my shopping and I have not made my own list and I have not gotten my bead stash out to create new pieces yet. BUT that is going to change!

I have a couple sets of tab beads that I am working on new designs with.
This set is on my work bench now and I am creating a full set using these beads and gemstones. They are slated for a necklace, bracelet and earring set. They will be up for photos before Christmas but before they end up on www.bluemorningexpressions.com, they are scheduled to be submitted to a magazine for showcasing. All goes well, maybe we will see them in a magazine for spring! In the meantime, there is a second set of these beads available for you to purchase to create your own spring ensemble. They are under the bead section in the tab/disk bead category on my website.

New beads are scheduled to be created and added in the next week or so. I am going to try and get some sets done that feature my waterslide decal images. They will be in the bead section.

This necklace set afforded me the title of showcase artist on the Beader’s Showcase website. I was extremely honored that they chose one of my pieces.

www.theseedbeadpatternstore.com and www.x-stitch-patterns.com are both slated for complete makeovers that hasn ot happened yet. There was an issue for awhile with the download site that I use to dispense the patterns upon purchase and I wanted to get that fixed before I continued with the revamping. For the moment, both sites are working but I am afraid I will need to postpone updating until after the first of the year.

I am busy getting more of my items up on www.bluemorningexpressions.com and the Christmas ornaments are up and ready for personalization.

Volume 6 Issue 11 November 2009

What's New in November?

This piece is an example of one of my original waterslide decals on a handcrafted white polymer clay focal bead that has been beaded with Swarovski crystals and Czech round glass beads. The matching earrings have been wrapped to leverbacks. The piece is currently unavailable for sale as it is going to be submitted to a magazine.

This lanyard is the next one scheduled to be in Polymer Café magazine in the spring readers showcase.

I added a dozen or so tab beads to the website—one set I duplicated so that I can create a new bracelet with them. They feature my white floral cane on a black background.

Volume 6 Issue 10 October 2009

What's New in October?

Check out one of my necklaces in the Polymer Café magazine Black and White challenge! I have another lanyard/watch that will be in the magazine in an upcoming edition as well. Both of these pieces feature my geometry canes. One black and white and the other is a blend of red, white and pink. Both of the remaining raw canes are all sold out.

I have spent quite a bit of time working on new tab beads and managed to get several new sets created. About half of them sold out as soon as I uploaded them. I am trying to find time to get more created. I also want to do some more bead kits with them as the focal on earrings. I keep plugging along!

I added 20 new waterslide decal patterns to the site and I am working on creating the white blank beads to go with those. I have some pretty patterns that will make great earring kits.

I have been working on revising www.x-stitch-patterns.com and upgrading it to a shopping cart site with direct downloads as opposed to running it through payloadz. This way everything stays on site. I added a half a dozen more patterns to the card set. The www.theseedbeadpatternstore.com is the next to get the major upgrade in time for the holidays. I have had a problem with having enough time to get all these things done. I apologize for lagging behind.

Waterslide Decals! Christmas decals will be up soon and I will be adding the Halloween images as well for your holiday bead making. The tab beads will be going up as well. I am doing those in a white cernit for a smooth ceramic look.

www.bluemorningexpressions.com has Christmas ornaments up for your purchase now. I am happy to personalize these ornaments.

I also added a section where I showcase my pencil artwork. I can get a couple pencil portraits in before the holidays but I will need to know shortly. It takes me a bit of time to finish them so make sure you make plans now.

Volume 6 Issue 9 September 2009

What's New in September?

Thank you for making our birthday celebration a success!

A lot of folks took advantage of our 25% off storewide sale at www.bluemorningexpressions.com and got some great deals on new polymer clay beads.

I took some time and created a lot of new beads this month. I ended up with over 65 sets of new beads. Most of them were kaleidoscope cane pillow beads. I also have taken the time to create 10 or 15 new sets of floral tab beads that are perfect for bracelets and earrings. I have tried to size them right about 8-10mm in size. Keep an eye out for more of these as I get the time to create. I am working on clearing out all my raw canes so that I can add more canes more beads to the store.

BluPrint August 09 The Newsletter of Blue Morning Expressions

Volume 6 Issue 8 August 2009

What's New in August?

It’s that time of the year again!
We are having a birthday!

In honor of our 5th birthday, we are having all kinds of great sales over in our www.bluemorningexpressions.com store. I will be putting everything in the store on sale for the ENTIRE month!! Just remember though that many of our items are one of a kind and when they are gone, they are gone and will never be repeated again. I am in the process of making a lot of design changes this year and retiring many of my previous designs so if you see something that you like, be sure and snag it now.

I have 12 new bead kits on the site, most are for eyeglass leashes but I also added two new earring kits and one ladybug necklace kit. All feature my own unique beads so rest assured, you will not be getting a mass produced kit of beads that can be found just anywhere.

I took two weeks off to go and wander about the upper northwest of our beautiful country and came back refreshed, inspired and thankful for all the magnificent vistas that we are blessed to call home to. I took hundreds of photos and was inspired by new pallets that I don’t normally see everyday.

Once you have gazed at the spectrum of colours radiating from the depths of the earth in Yellowstone or the stark beauty of the desert colours dashing across the landscape, you come away with a new pantone sample to create from. Photos will be posted on my website when I get a chance.

But back to work!

Waterslide Decals! I got 20 new sheets of designs up on the website, I used one for a heart that I did as an example. I was so happy with it that I intend to create a whole set of beads. I did make an error in the sizing of the decals so they are a bit too large for the moment but I will correct that soon.

www.bluemorningexpressions.com is very close to being complete. I have added a discontinued category for my old designs. Most of those are under $3.00. I also have been working on free instructions—I just am not getting as much done on those as I would like. I don’t sit down to write like I used to.

In my running around, I regrettably have neglected my other duties to my other sites so I need to focus on those sites here in the next few weeks. That means that new patterns on www.theseedbeadpatternstore.com and www.x-stitch-patterns.com have been set aside for a few and it also means that www.cliponearringsboutique.com has not been updated as promised. I will take care of those things very soon.

Use the coupon code loyal on www.bluemorningexpressions.com for
30% off your entire order before shipping. Shipping on the site is a flat

Thank you so much for all the input and emails. I enjoy all

July 09 BluPrint the official Newsletter of Blue Morning Expressions

Volume 6 Issue 7 July 2009

What's New in July?

www.bluemorningexpressions.com is filling up slowly but surely. I am trying to at least put a couple items in the different categories so there is a small representative to what is to come. I know that there are a lot of categories that are still blank, but rest assured they will be filled!

I also have taken the time to get some new canes created. I did a couple kaleidoscope canes and one little white daisy for the fun of it. The kaleidoscopes are not in the store and one of them was used for a fund raiser necklace and earring set that I did. The other kaleidoscope's future is unknown at the moment.

Under Bead Kits, I now have two earring kits and one ladybug necklace kit. The ladybug comes with all the beads you need to create one necklace using my original ladybug polymer clay beads. The new earring kit consists of my cute little spiral tube beads and other goodies.

I am still juggling all the sites and keep moving from one to the other in no apparent order. I have a notebook full of new designs for www.x-stitch-patterns.com and am slowly but surely reworking loom patterns into peyote patterns for www.theseedbeadpatternstore.com. Both of those projects are scheduled to be done shortly. I also have some new earrings and designs ready for www.cliponearringsboutique.com.

Eyeglass Chain kits. I have the original one done and photos taken, I am now in the process of putting together my kits. I have all the main beads bagged and the findings together, but I am in the process of coordinating all the additional spacers and other goodies that will go in the kits. I have about a dozen of them about ready to go.

Charms and charm bracelets, please bear with me, I am working as fast as I can to get them completed and updated.

Waterslide decals. I have 20 designs up and thousands more to put together. I am working on cleaning up all my artwork from the last few years and putting these things together for use on polymer clay, candles, wood plaques and anything else you can think of to decorate.

I still have to put all the children’s jewelry up on the website, I have not even started that and I still have hundreds of earring designs that are not up yet.

I also am doing a lot of one of a kind buttons that I have spread out on my work bench right now and almost ready to upload. These are not made to order creations, they are one of a kind, when it’s gone, it’s gone type of buttons.

June 09 BluPrint the Newsletter of Blue Morning Expressions

What's New in June?

Blue Morning Expressions.com got a complete long overdue makeover!
I finally started to bring all of my items home to one place. Even though I
continueto sell in other venues like bonanzle, etsy and occasionally eBay, I
wanted to get everything in one place. I have accomplished the store set up
and I am slowly building and moving everything in. Currently I have several
categories completed and stocked with all the inventory that I have with many
more to go.

One of the most exciting factors in building this store is the ability to run
specials, sales and coupon codes any time I like and with this, I am able to
give my regular customers special pricing.

I continue to create as many new beads as I can and I have 10 fresh sets of
floral rounds that I just uploaded to Blue Morning Expressions.com and 3 of
them are already sold. I spent some time doing some custom cane work so
I didn't get a lot of bead sets done this month but look for more next month.
I have some fresh ideas/pieces that I will be including so look for some new
designs.

I will be doing a lot more new canes as well, I took a ton of photos at a local
nursery to use as basis for my new canes and will be incorporating them into
the standards. Some of my photography can also be found on Shutterstock.com.

Bead Kits are ready to be photo'ed. I am starting with a simple ladybug necklace
kit for the kids and I will go from there. I am discontinuing the completed items
and will be offering the kits. I don't have the time to create the sets any more, yet
they are still in demand so this is the happy medium.

www.TheSeedBeadPatternStore.com has been successful and the sales
bounce back and forth between the actual site, where you can find over 300
patterns, and eBay which is limited to some of my booklets. If you
want digital download and immediate gratification, go to the website
www.theseedbeadpatternstore.com and download your bead
patterns. eBay requires me to provide a cd so there is the extra charge
for that and shipping, whereas the website has no additional charge.

If you have any problems with the files, I am right here to help, just
drop me an email and I will fix it for you.

There are more peyote patterns just waiting for me to get uploaded
and there are animal prints and my Fourth of July series that I have not
finished yet, so watch for those. There also is a couple of complete series
of patterns that are going to be focusing on limited colour pallets, so watch
for them as well.

www.x-stitch-patterns.com will be updated soon to accomodate a lot of the
4x4 patterns that I have sitting here. I did a lot of small images that are
perfect for the motif cards that I will be adding.

All kinds of good and new things going on!!

Use the coupon code loyal on www.bluemorningexpressions.com for
30% off your entire order before shipping. Shipping on the site is a flat
$2.75 in case anyone wants to know.

Thank you so much for all the input and emails. I enjoy all
the encouragement that you send my way.

Until next month,

Julie

May 2009 BluPrint Blue Morning Expressions Newsletter

What's New in May?

The Seed Bead Pattern Store has taken off in leaps and bounds! I am
so thrilled with the initial success and you pattern purchasers have been
great to work with! The site is up and running, the only thing left to add
is the individual peyote patterns, but the books are all there. From there I
will start converting some of my loom patterns into peyote stitch. I haven't
had a chance to develope sales and coupon codes yet, but those are next
on my list of things to do. There will also be a freebie section as well. Most
of you know that I am very generous in handing out freebies on your CD's
or in your zip downloads, and I will continue that practice for you. I still have
some cosmetic changes to make but, www.theseedbeadpatternstore.com
is complete and functioning.

www.X-Stitch-Patterns.com hasn't been forgotten, it got sidetracked by some
extra things I had to do. It is next to get a bit of a facelift and create the patterns
that are going to go in the 4x4 cards, bookmarks, and other things. I have the
sketches done and need to translate them over to a coloured image and then
into a pattern format.

Bead kits, I have been talking about them for awhile now and they are laid
out on my work bench and I will start doing photos and descriptions and will
add them to my sites. They will be showcased on my bonanzle site, either
polymerclaybeads or saracom. I haven't quite decided yet. They will be a
nice edition to either site. I also have been contemplating writing a pdf book
of patterns for those who want to create their own polymer clay pieces. I
am not certain if I will or not.

I plan on creating a whole new group of loose beads. I think it's been a
month or so since I found the time to sit down and just create for creations
sake. I have a lot of new techniques that I want to try and I still have all
those wonderful new flower canes that I created that haven't been put to
good use yet. I think the only time I used them was on a couple thimbles
that didn't stay in the store 12 hours and they were sold. I also have a
great big beautiful mokume gane block that I want to work on some beads
from. That is the last "cane" that I have created in awhile now.

I am finishing a nasty bout with poison ivy on my leg, it appears that Blu went
trouncing through the underbrush here and then brushed up against my bare
leg. I am on week three of this and just discovered something a doctor wrote.
Put your body part under the hottest water you can stand for a few minutes, it
will dull the itch and the pain. I have to say that it does work! I also read that
it will cure poison ivy but I am three weeks late on that information!

You can always, always find me at www.bluemorningexpressions.com
that is the hub site for all the goodies. I keep my fractal art clothing line
there and my buttons and my magnets and my art prints and all the other
things that I am playing with.

Thank you so much for all the input and emails. I enjoy all
the encouragement that you send my way.

Until next month,

Julie and Blu

Blu Print April 09 Official Newsletter of Blue Morning Expressions

What's New in April?

Blue Morning Expressions is pleased to announce two new product line openings. After some experimentation with the cross stitch patterns, we have officially opened up www.x-stitch-patterns.com and it is the site of over 300 patterns currently. If you look at it, you will see that there are several areas left to fill, like 4x4 cards, samplers and other goodies. They are still being put together. I also discovered that the huge key word search is bringing in those looking for free patterns, so I will be accomodating those folks as well. The site is set up for immediate download and there is no waiting for me to email the pattern or the code.

Now, keeping that in mind, my other grand opening that has been in the making for over 20 years is www.theseedbeadpatternstore.com. I have been wanting to develope these patterns for years and they are just now coming into their own. I have over 70 individual patterns for bracelets that are bundled into pattern packs of 10 each. They have been wildly successful and now I am splitting them out for individual purchases. The site is open with only the pattern booklets at the moment, but I have over 100 tapestry patterns for loomwork. I will also be converting my bracelet patterns into peyote stitch as well as time permits.

And keeping with the DIY crowd, my kits are still in the standby mode as I try and get the patterns together. I want to create some specific beads for those kits and I have been so busy building sites and creating the patterns that I have had little time for other things. So, if you are waiting to see the new bead kits, it will be just a bit longer and then I will have them ready to go. They will be showcased on my bonanzle site for beads. www.bonanzle.com/polymerclaybeads - take a look at what I have in there now, I have my canes and my loose beads there. I also have my loom work patterns and my raw canes. I also have freebies on that site!

I will be putting together the lanyard and eyechain kits within the next few weeks. I need to move the extra beads and goodies into packages and put them in their place instead of all over
my work bench.

I have added one more raw clay cane flower this week. It is a beautiful blue and white. Unfortunately that is the extent of what I have managed to get accomplished in the cane department. That and a freshened up leaf cane. These little staples are fun to create and I love to experiment with the colors. I also took time to create some beads. I did put up 6 new kaledioscope bead sets on etsy, I have 2 of them left. I did put up a couple new thimbles, they are gone as well. I will try and get some more beads created soon.

You can always, always find me at www.bluemorningexpressions.com that is the hub site for all the goodies. I keep my fractal art clothing line there and my buttons and my magnets and my art prints and all the other things that I am playing with.

Thank you so much for all the input and emails. I enjoy all the encouragement that you send my way.

Until next month,

March 2009 Newsletter

Volume 6 Issue 3 March 2009

What's New in March?

I am happy to announce that my cross stitch pattern site is just around the corner. I will be opening that up within the month. The address for that is www.x-stitch-patterns.com and it currently has 300 patterns that I am putting the finishing touches on for launch. Earmark it as it won't be much longer before it is up and running. It will be strictly a digital download site.
NOTE:Launched on March, 01, 2009

I give away a set of beads with every purchase there.

I have dozens of tube bead sets there as well as little Natasha's.

I have 5 large kaleidoscope canes up for auction at ebay. I still am doing business there for my unique items like the canes. I have many other sites and places where I have spread out.

You can always, always find me at www.bluemorningexpressions.com that is the hub site for all the goodies. I keep my fractal art clothing line there and my buttons and my magnets and my art prints and all the other things that I am playing with.

Since I have been working on my bead tapestries and such, I have rather neglected the cane side of my obessions. I will get back to them and to the other pillow beads that I want to create as soon as I can move a couple of special order products out of the way.

I will be putting together the lanyard and eyechain kits within the next few weeks. I need to move the extra beads and goodies into packages and put them in their place instead of all over

I added an Easter bunny dog tag to my bonanzle site. It's priced just right and I may or may not get around to creating more of them. I seem to be able to only to so many things at once, imagine that!

I am working on finishing my own Lucky Clover loomed choker and I am almost done with it. When I finish it up and do the embellishments on it, I will post it on my website. My next project is going to be my Pirate choker.

I did get 5 new flower canes up this month even though I am behind on my cane work.

Thank you so much for all the input and emails. I enjoy all the encouragement that you send my way.

Until next month,

Julie

Thar be pirates! Skull Choker pattern ©09 j.cleveland

Volume 6 Issue 2 February 2009

What's New in February?

The beginning of a new year is always an exciting time. I always like to start with a clean slate and begin new projects that maybe I just hadn't had time to get around to or they got lost in the shuffle of the holidays.

Keeping in mind that a lot of folks are more interested in the DIY scene, I am focusing more on that this year than I have in previous years. When I was out on the show circuit, the rules would not allow me to offer supplies or kits, so my inventory was focused on the finished product. But since I am no longer doing shows, I am free to begin to develope my kits and supply groups. My bead buyers are only a few of those folks I will be concentrating on.

One of the biggies on my list of things to do for several years now (since 1998) has been to take all my years of graphic design and my sketches and transform them into bead patterns for jewelry and tapestries. I am excited to announce that I have completed two pattern books of 10 bracelets and over a dozen tapestries and 2 chokers.

It looks like the dust has settled on the ebay scene and a new site has arisen out of the ruins and more and more sellers of unique and individual items are moving over to www.bonanzle.com. We set up a presence there as well and diversified out a bit more than we had in the past. You can still find our cool gifts there but we also put together a very large polymer clay bead store.
The site offers the ability to give freebies away and we put over 15 sets of Natasha beads up there as freebies for purchasing with us. YAY for you!

January 09 Edition of The Blu Print - The Official Newsletter of Blue Morning Expressions

What's New in January?

A time to take stock and do some cleaning and inventory for the new year.

I hope that all of you have had a wonderful holiday season and that this finds you in good health and spirits.

As for us, it is a time to revise the old business plan and make preparations for new products and changes for the new year - and to keep the accountant happy.

We had a lot of changes in 08, both personally and business wise as we looked at the changes in the market and the changes that are prevalant in the ecommerce community and are adapting to those changes.

The best part is that we are creating more and more and will make more moves away from completed items and more towards the component side and the DIY side of things.

Our etsy stores are still intact and they will stay up and be updated as much as
everything else is. And of course, you can always find our items on our main website at www.bluemorningexpressions.com.

I got on a tube bead kick and just let it go - I managed to create over 24 sets in the long run and there are still more to create. I just got all involved in it and couldn't seem to stop. They are two different sizes, most are lanyard and eyeglass chain size, but there are several sets of slender tubes for dangle earrings or bracelets. I think I will go back and create some more!

I have three or four new canes that I put up on auction on ebay. I have a total of 10 out there right now but the rest are older ones. All my canes are available for purchase through the bonanzle store under booth polymerclaybeads. If you do make it to www.bonanzle.com and sign up, please use us as a reference and enter user referal name saracom in the section of your sign up. Blu and I appreciate it.

I have a few more new canes on my work bench right now and they will be up soon as well. One didn't come out anything like I thought it should!

I finished a second cuff bracelet and I finished 4 new name badge lanyards that are on the web now.

I still have a lot more lanyards to complete and I am learing more bead stitching. I am creating loom patterns now and willput those up as soon as I test them. I need to buy seed beads,

I never have any of those!

Thank you so much for all the input and emails. I enjoy all the encouragement that you send my way.

Until next month,

Julie

Things to Look Forward To:

New Products:
ShooDooDads for Crocs and Holey shoes. These are featuring my designs and my beads. Most of these are created out of polymer clay.

Build a Bracelet for those who want to create their own bracelet featuring the doodads and beads. I will give you a selection of beads that you can use to create your one of a kind item. I am thinking at this point that I will be doing some custom name beads. I will have to see how the prototype goes. The DooDads for the shoes were a hit.

Dog Tag Necklaces seem to be very popular and they are one of those things that I am working on. I am doing some experimental pieces and will probably end up doing designs and then just keeping them in stock like I do my earrings. That way you can order them all year round.

Watches are being created as we speak. I am experimenting with different bracelet types and trying out new ways to bead the bands to the watch faces. I have made a few messes and have tossed out some unworkable beads but I am getting there.

Canes For The Rest Of Us is the title of my book. I have done a lot of the preliminary work on it and will be doing all my photography and text in the next few months.
