Winter Snow, Sunsets and Spring Earrings!

Volume 10 Issue 1, January 2013

What's New in January?

It is so hard to figure out where 2012 went, and yet, there was a lot that went

on in 2012. Some of the things that I got to do in 2012 was spend a few days

in Yosemite again and do some hiking. I also got to see a huge lava field in

Idaho and I saw two spectacular meteor showers.

I learned a couple new techniques in clay and I finally got my lampwork bead

stash out and created some beautiful necklaces, bracelets and earrings.

I baked a lot of cookies for the holidays and sent them all over the country to

family and friends. I went through seven pounds of Blue Bonnet!  I made it a point to buy all handmade items

for Christmas gifts and I supported my local indie businesses.

I went on a Christmas stroll downtown and enjoyed the sights, sounds and

scents that do with a street party. There was popcorn and caroling, horses

and lots of dogs, hayrack rides and window shopping. It was a festive small

town gathering that was magical in many ways.

The year has ended and the new one has begun. While it may seem like

the same days as usual, there is an excitement in the air as we head into a

new year. It always seems like we start with so much hope and happiness,

and if we can continue it throughout the year, then we have been successful.

A beautiful winter sunset

lights up the sky as I was

drawing the shades for the

night. The mountains are

glowing with the fiery sun

and the snow is starting

to flow over the Bridger clip_image002

Mountains as a night time

snow storm begins.

Buttons:

I decided to do some more flat buttons. I only did three sets of the same at

this moment. I got a bit sidetracked with holiday cheer. Look for more in

the upcoming year.

Earrings:

I went earring crazy! I made up a ton of my earring bead pairs and then spent

a couple days winding them into earrings. I had a blast!

New Canes and Beads

Here are some new beads that I have come up with for

the winter season. I have them in my Artfire studio, my Etsy shop and my

website:

Until next month,

Things to Look Forward To:

New Products:

New Beads—Euro Style handmade polymer clay large hole beads to

fit the popular cable bracelets.

New Bracelets—Finally! I have taken out my enormous stash of lampwork

beads and began to create new bracelets.

Thimbles— I am back to creating thimbles. I have included my latest

thimbles in the vision of Santa and snowmen! I also am working on new

techniques that I decided would look good on the thimbles.
