Mammatus Clouds and Kaleidoscope Earrings

Volume 17 Issue 8, August 2020

What's New in August?

We have been experiencing some hot summer days, and now we are watching a tropical storm developing. So far, it looks like it will skip Florida, but it will head towards the Gulf. In the meantime, it is hot, and humid with some overcast skies with chances of thunderstorms. Our AC hates us.

There has been a tortoise sighting as a small baby tortoise has been munching on our front yard. A very large black widow spider who was living in the water faucet in the yard became an unwelcome visitor. She popped out to give me a hard time when I turned the faucet on. The water pushed her nest out, and excitement ensued. Sorry, no photos. :)

Most of the things on my To Do list month are very low key and don’t involve going outside in the summer sun! I am staying in and making beads, which is a whole lot better than trying to spend five minutes weeding my flowers.

We are still homebound due to Covid-19. We do very little shopping, and with the explosion of cases in our state this month, we are doing our best to stay safe. You stay safe, too!

We saw the comet twice, and here are some Mammatus clouds that precluded a tornado here not that long ago.
