Butterflies and Kaleidoscope Beads

Volume 17 Issue 6, June 2020

What's New in June?

The start of the 2020 hurricane season is already off to an active start. We have had a couple waves and disturbances that have made the weather here rainy and grey.

The plants love it, and I have used those dark days to create new beads and other colorful art pieces. I also used it to bake a couple loaves of bread. There will be more beads before there is more bread; apparently, yeast is now something that is hard to find.

What is not hard to find is lots of clay and color inspirations. Even with dark weather, I can still enjoy all of the flowers and birds in my front yard. A little bit of rain has gone a long way to perking up the flowers and giving them reasons to bloom.

I have been amusing myself by sitting on the porch and shooting photos of birds, butterflies and flowers like this one.

What’s New

Beads: Brand new sets of beads from kaleidoscope canes are now a reality in my shop.

Bracelets: Fun charm bracelets with Bible verses and Mom charms.

Charms: I added a large assortment of 20mm and 25mm charms for purchase.
You will find all of my beads, canes and finished jewelry on my website.

From Pineapples to Depressions, It's all Tropical Here

Volume 17 Issue 5, May 2020

What's New in May?

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms, grandmas, aunts and sisters out there on the Internet and beyond! I hope that you had a peaceful day and were able to enjoy family, even if you were social distancing and getting together digitally. Strange days, indeed.

On the Florida front, there have been some beautiful, cool days with little humidity and lots of cool ocean breezes. These are the days that remind me of why I live here. Of course, we now have a tropical disturbance that, although it will not affect us, it is causing a bit of a panic buying spree that we Floridians are so accustomed to during hurricane season.

It is not even going to rain on us.

While we enjoy the cooler weather, here is a delight that has been at least three years in the making. It is a baby pineapple, and this photo is two months old, but shows all the beautiful purple flowers that come before the fruit. It is now about ready to pick, but still green.

What’s New

Beads: New cabochons are in the shop.

Bracelets: New personalized pet charm bracelet with your pet and a monogram charm and Mom and Bible verse bracelets, too.

Thimbles: New Mother’s Day and other thimbles, as well as Nurse Appreciation Day thimbles.

You will find all of my beads, canes and finished jewelry on my website. www.bluemorningexpressions.com

Until next month,
Julie

Bead Sets: In addition to polymer clay beads, I want to put together complete sets for beading that include complementary beads, as well.

Gifts for Her–Rubies and Handmade

If you are looking for a boost in self-esteem, then drape yourself in rubies. Not only will you look "mahvelous", you will also see an increase in energy levels. The ruby is good for intuition and spiritual wisdom, too.

You will find loyalty and love, as well as good fortune from your rubies, and it has a touch of aphrodisiac traits. Ooo lala

Rubies are mined in Mexico, India, Thailand, and other places around the world that you find gemstones.

The ruby is a creator's dream stone, as it is the stone of creativity. Maybe rubies will help you during a creative slump or with writer's block.

Rubies are usually red, but they can take on tints of brown or blue under the right circumstances. They are directly related to the sapphire, so they can share properties.

If you are an impulsive person, the ruby is NOT for you.

Rubies will exacerbate nervousness or short tempers. One must use great care when using rubies since they enhance emotions all too easily.

That's great if you are looking for repressed feelings, but not so great when you are trying to talk to an overseas tech help desk for information on why your blankity blank printer doesn't work.

The ruby helps you shed depression and fatigue, as well as awaken all types of passions in you, which can be very beneficial in creative folks. It will help motivate you in a positive and refreshing direction.

It is also said to be the stone of blood and circulation.

As I have said before, I don't know anything about all of these things, but I do know that red is a passionate color and the color of intensity, so okay, I can buy that rubies are an intense stone.

What is also intense are these awesome handmade gift ideas for Mother's Day from some of our most talented artists and designers.
