Gifts for Her–Amethyst and Handmade
Amethyst
It all starts with Bacchus, the god of wine having a very, very, very, not so ordinary day. He had decided that he was going to toss the very first person who crossed his path to his very, very, very, not so ordinary hungry tigers.
Who should come bouncing along happy, cheerful and most delightful on her way to a temple service for the lovely Diana, goddess of the moon? The innocent maiden, Amethyst.
As she was being devoured by those tigers, she cried out to Diana to save her. Diana answered Amethyst's call and transformed her into a beautiful white stone, thus saving her from being eaten, but still a rock in the end.
Bacchus, whose mood had greatly improved at the sight of her being eaten was wowed by the miracle and immediately (because guys can never, ever leave anything alone) dashed wine upon the stone, turning it to the lovely purple stone we know and adore today.
It is said to prevent drunkenness (Bacchus, I am looking at YOU) as part of its metaphysical properties. It is also the birthstone of the February baby.
It is said to be a spiritual stone that can protect, as well as be a crystal of selflessness, balance, inner peace and nobleness.
All I know is it is purple, and I love purple!

Jasper
Considered the stone of tenderness, jasper enhances relaxation, healing, integrity, peace and comfort to the wearer. It is filled with protective energy and is used for nurturing.
Jasper is said to increase clarity and mental balance, as well as grace and beauty.
Jasper is certainly beautiful with its wide palette of colors and patterns. This stone is one of my favorites; although, I could not tell you which variation is my favorite since they are all delightful in their uniqueness.
It is found around the world, and one of the things I didn't get to do while in Montana was pull some from the mountain streams.
Because of its amazing arrays of colors and patterns, this gemstone is easily paired with any color combination when designing jewelry.

Jasper is mentioned in the Bible as one of the breastplate stones used by the high priests and is the stone of the Benjamin tribe. It is even mentioned in the book of Revelation as a very precious jewel.
Native Americans consider it a rainmaker and is used today as a dowser.
Every jasper variation has its own metaphysical properties, so each should be considered if you are using them for healing or in chakra jewelry.
I just know that I love the colors and patterns, and that jasper makes a great accent bead in my jewelry.

Diamonds
Diamonds are a Girl's Best friend, or so we are told.
The use of diamonds can be traced back around to 25,000 to 30,000 B.C. (I don't even know what that means; I only know it was a long, long, LONG time ago.)
Since diamonds are rare, they are said to symbolize love and fidelity. They are purity and innocence, and represent character strength, faithfulness and ethics. There are sparks of energy that surrounds a diamond, and inspires creativity.
The diamond has been associated with the planet Venus or the planet Mars, depending upon which ancient people we are discussing.
Metaphysically, it is considered the most powerful crystal and can open more doors within oneself than any other stone. While I am in no way an expert in any of those things, I have seen the Hope Diamond, and I am sure many a spiritual door was opened with that beauty. I know every woman around me at the exhibit in the National Museum of Natural History had their noses pressed to the glass in order to gaze upon the rich blues in that particular stone.
Diamonds come in a range of colors, but all diamonds sparkle and shine with a fiery rainbow when the sun hits them.
